Overview
When we employ a new member of staff we need them to be operational as quickly as possible, which is why most of us put them out there to get their hands dirty sooner rather than later, with many inductions not covering a lot more than “there are the toilets” and “you know where I am if you have any problems”! However, we are all aware that this ends up causing more problems that we started with! This workshop takes delegates through the stages of the employee lifecycle and shows you how to start measuring competence and developing people more quickly from the second your new starter walks in the door.
Training Outcomes
After attending this course, participants will be able to;
Design an induction matrix that specifies tangible and intangible learning points for a new starter.
Assess a new starters competence from day 1.
Establish specific and measurable development activities that will decrease the learning time.
Design a development framework that will use induction as the start of performance management and lead into annual appraisals.
Who Should Attend
Any line managers that are responsible for taking on and training new staff, whether they are new to the company or new to the role.
