Influence and Persuasion Skills

Course Objectives

The ability to say what we think whilst showing respect for others allows us to make valuable contributions in the workplace. This course is about being able to define our individual power to have influence in the workplace. It covers how to be successful through effective relationships and how to improve persuasion skills. Underpinning all these capabilities are the essential communication skills that allow us to have influence. Delegates will learn how to harness their personal power, influence effectively and persuade others in order to positively influence outcomes at work.

Course Overview

  • Power in the workplace understanding power sources and how they can be used to increase influence in the workplace.
  • Influencing core essentials the elements that allow people to influence others and the components of influencing.
  • The communication elements of influencing the significance of communication during the influencing process
  • Individual influencing style identification of the range of individual styles, developing a range of styles and increasing flexibility.
  • Persuasion the elements that allow people to persuade others, identification of audience openness and influencing strategies to fit.
  • Application of learning individual application and action planning.

This course can be delivered as a one day format or an extended two day format that includes assertiveness

Cost £200 per person per day + VAT, funding from Welsh Assembly Government is available to companies in Wales at 70% for SMEs or 50% for larger organisations, please call us for further details.
