The Work Style Analyser (WSA)

WSA is a unique psychometric instrument which provides a wealth of highly accurate and useful data about an individuals working style.

Over the last 20 years, it has proved hugely effective and popular with the many organisations that have used it, including: Unilever, Virgin, Vodafone, Coke, Cadbury Schwepps, WH Smith, NHS, Homebase, Burton Group, Laura Ashley, Rail Europe and Harvey Nichols. It is also in use by many independent consultants and SMEs both in the UK and abroad.

Unlike other instruments, it is relatively low on psychology speak, providing instead, clear and easily understood data which enables people to make good decisions about what to do when they get feedback on their results.

WSA has proved especially useful for team building, coaching, creating development plans, and senior assessment. It has also been used to greatly enhance recruitment and assessment centre processes.

Every person is unique in their working style and WSA provides a wealth of data pertinent to that individual. It does not box people into narrow definitions or personality types.

WSA is relatively new to the psychometric marketplace and can provide weary delegates with a new and positive experience.

WSA has strong statistical validity and comes with a comprehensive Technical Manual. WSA does not require BPS level A or B as a pre-requisite for attending a qualification programme. A willingness to learn and an opportunity to use it to benefit the organisation are the only pre-requisites.

WSA easily compliments other personality type instruments and works especially well when combined with MBTI and Firo B.

WSA is not a test or a pass/ fail instrument. It provides non judgemental information to facilitate appropriate change, promote understanding and accelerate development of teams and individuals

WSA is not a measure of ability, but is a highly accurate diagnostic and predictor of working style strengths and limitations.

WSA is extremely good value for money when compared against similar instruments in the psychometric marketplace.

The Work Style Analyser Development Programme
Learning how to use an instrument like the Work Style Analyser is always a stimulating, practical and beneficial experience for everyone who takes part.

The overall objective of the Work Style Analyser Development Programme is to build skill and capability in WSA Analysts, so that they are able to use the WSA ethically and accurately for the benefit of their people, their teams and their organisation.

The accreditation programme to licence people to use the WSA involves the following careful steps?¢‚Ǩ¬¶
  1. Some pre-programme study using the abbreviated WSA scales and a case study.
  2. A three day workshop focused on knowledge of the instrument, interpretation, application and feedback skills.
  3. A twelve week gap for project work and application to business needs. This part of the programme is supported by telephone coaching if required
  4. A follow up day which includes project reviews and the analysts test. This test is mandatory and is focused around interpretation skills and practical application.
  5. Projects and test papers are reviewed by approved MPA Chartered Occupational Psychologists and licensed analysts, who provide a pass/ fail review, and feedback if required.
  6. Certificates are then issued. The certificates are important as they contain the analyst reference numbers which need to be quoted when ordering materials.
